It turns out that cyber security is paramount when choosing a smartphone
According to the “Allot Telco Security Trends H1 2022” study, cyber security should become an essential part of mobile operators’ offering – it is four times more priority for consumers than entertainment.
According to a study by Coleman Parkes Research, commissioned by Allot, 54% of consumers worldwide believe that security is the most important part of a mobile operator’s offering. Mobile entertainment comes in second only, with 13% of consumers citing it.
The needs of consumers in terms of providing them with cyber security are further emphasized by the fact that the following places are among the most anticipated services provided by mobile operators: cyberbullying protection (13% of responses), phone insurance (12%), And – the possibility of controlling the behavior of parents of children on the Internet (7%).

Also, up to 56% of respondents indicated that they wanted protection from online threats to be part of the service package offered by operators – compared to only 8% of these indicators in 2020. Other key findings from the Allot Telco Security Trends H1 2022 report include:

• 62% of consumers say secure connectivity is the primary offering they expect from mobile service providers.
• 84% of consumers believe that security should already be on the device or that the responsibility for security should lie with the device manufacturer or service provider.
• 75% of consumers said they trust their telecom company to protect themselves from cyber threats.
• More than 90% of consumers are willing to pay for protection against cyberthreats.
