Google Currents will stop working and will be terminated
Google Streams, often referred to as Google+ for Business, will no longer work. It was the least liked app in the Workspace group.
Google missed the moment to enter and develop social networking sites. Google+ didn’t work, so Google provided streams so far. It was not a site designed to compete with Facebook or Twitter, but rather – a corporate social medium. In Currents, Google assumed that users should share news, discuss, and generally spend time within the organization.

Google Currents was launched in 2019 as a successor to Google+ as part of the G Suite service. Now, however, the company has announced that the service will disappear from the market.
What about users who have used Currents? Google encourages them to switch to Spaces. This, in turn, is a service that was introduced in 2021 as part of Google Workspace, an alternative to G Suite for enterprises.
“Since we launched Spaces, many customers have told us that they value the tight integration with Google Workspace products including Gmail, Calendar, Drive and Meet, and seamless collaboration,” the company says. Thus, from 2023 Currents will be reduced and its services transferred to Spaces. So we have until the end of the year to organize our data.
Spaces de facto offers many of the same features and tools as Currents, but a stronger integration with other Google apps.
Workspace is also a Google package that competes with other solutions in the market. It is noteworthy that even Meta (Facebook) relies on this type of service, offering Workplace for business. Thus, competition is increasingly fierce, which means suppliers must quickly realize when something is not working and make appropriate changes.
