Basic keyboard for gamers in the abridged version. We test the G413 SE TKL
G413 TKL SE is a shortened version of the keyboard – there is no numeric block, but pointer arrows and a block of control keys such as Page Down, Home, etc. Design, It’s the most keyboard you can imagine – there are no extra buttons, multimedia keys, rollers etc, it just has the Logitech logo in the top right corner. Unfortunately, you can also immediately see its biggest weakness – without the backlight, the inscriptions on the keys would not be visible at all. So even though we can adjust the brightness of the white light, it can’t be turned off because the keyboard can’t be used afterwards.
keyboard without software
Anyway, nothing else with this keyboard we can’t do – there’s no software for it, so you can’t assign new functions to the keys or do other things known from more expensive models. However, don’t blame it, it’s meant to be a budget model, so all costs have been reduced and nothing extra has been added. So you will have to learn, for example, keyboard shortcuts with the Fn button to change the volume, etc.
Under the hood are budget versions of the Kalih switches, i.e. Long Hua pretending to be MX Brown. Pretend is the best word because it’s louder and doesn’t feel the trigger point at all. In addition, I do not like very small keys – if we type quickly, it is very easy to press the edge of the button, which is inconvenient, so you need to spend some time getting used to the size of the buttons and the style of the keys.
While, because of these things, it’s not a keyboard for someone who types a lot, it does pretty well in games. I’ve used it in Doom Eternal, Total War: Warhammer, Dragon Age… all of these games have proven their worth, and I couldn’t complain. It does what it is supposed to do – it works without problems
Summary
To sum up – the Logitech G413 TKL SE is the simplest basic keyboard, for budget gamers (you can get it for as little as PLN 300, which is a decent price for a mechanical keyboard), who are unlikely to use it to type long texts all day long. Yes, it has its drawbacks that you can get used to, but at the same time, despite these drawbacks, it will still be better than membrane keyboards.
