Up to 190 GB of confidential Samsung data went to the network
Samsung has been subjected to a hacking attack. Almost 200 gigabytes of confidential data went into the network.
The Korean tech giant has fallen victim to a hacking attack . From Samsung servers , about 190 GB of data containing confidential information was stolen . The group carried out the attack Lapsus$ , which a few days ago attacked one of the largest manufacturers of computer graphics cards – Nvidia .
According to the latest reports , a group of hackers stole less than 200 gigabytes of data from Samsung servers . Among these are secret source codes for software developed by a Korean electronics manufacturer .

Information about the attack was provided by the portal a sleeping computer . Reported that hacker group Lapsus$ is behind the cyber attack. Screenshots of the source code developed by Samsung have been released on the net.
The data stolen includes:
- Source code for each trusted applet used in the Samsung TrustZone environment
- Algorithms for Samsung biometric unlocking
- Bootloader source code for latest devices developed by Samsung
- Qualcomm secret source code
Stolen information may cause huge losses to Samsung . Currently, we don’t know if the $Lapsus group actually contacted Samsung for a ransom. Samsung has not issued a statement on the matter .
The hack has not been officially confirmed, but The Korean Herald said that Samsung is already conducting an internal investigation .
