AirCar – A Slovak flying car passed the tests and received a safety certificate
The AirCar has received a safety certificate from the Slovak Transport Authority. The machine has managed to fly for 70 hours and has more than 200 takeoffs and landings behind, the media reported.

– Thus, the standards of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) are met, and AirCar has an open door to mass production, said the machine’s inventor Stephan Klein, who is also a test pilot and head of the development team.
It takes 2 minutes and 15 seconds to convert a car into a plane. A vehicle with a BMW engine can reach a speed of more than 160 kilometers per hour and fly at altitudes of up to 2500 meters above the ground. You need a pilot’s license to fly an AirCar.
In the summer of 2021, Klein flew about 75 kilometers from the capital Bratislava to Nitra in about half an hour. It was then that he decided the trip was a milestone in the project. Another AirCar flight is scheduled between Paris and London.

“Flight tests covered the full range of maneuverability and performance, and demonstrated impressive dynamic stability and stability in airplane mode,” the company told CNN.

A similar flying car design is the PAL-V Liberty. It is a gyroplane of a Dutch company that can also be used as a road vehicle. The CNN portal said it had already received a full basis for certification by EASA, but according to the Dutch company’s website, it had not yet passed the final stage of “proof of compliance”.
He added that the Terrafugia has also been certified as airworthiness by the FAA’s regulator Special Light-Sport Aircraft (LSA) for its transitional vehicle that allows users to drive and fly, according to a press release last January.
